Walsall market
Yes I know this is a Sandwell blog but you have to give Walsall Council praise for opening a night market
to help bring in trade to the Shops,Pubs & traders. Our last party blogger was posting these ideas years before I took over this blog and years before Portas review!
That's the way to help trade!
and it doesn't hurt the day time traders
( Click) Night Market in Walsall
Do you think Sandwell Labour will listen ?
Free Parking in West Bromwich
Yes after all there is free parking in West Bromwich
http://www.expressandstar.com/news/2013/01/28/free-staff-car-park-at-hq-of-west-brom/
lets see Labour roll free parking out to all traders and customers, because I bet the small shop keeper or shop worker paying £20 a week to the council just to park by their shop in the town is well cheesed and
sick of the tax on jobs
Labour Scrap parking charges for all and let our town economically boom.
Do you think Labour would like that ?

Sandwell's EU referendum
Its simple
The Conservatives will give you a YES
-NO vote on Europe
Labour & the Lib dems wont let you get near a ballot paper
“My position is no – We don’t want an in out referendum”
Ed Miliband 23 January 2013.
Now the scare tactics will start, the
gloom and doom merchants and then the threats just like last time.
Why? because they want you money
We all know that Europe's a mess!, ( Source USA, Must Read)
In Spain youth unemployment rate is
52.9pc, with the Greece youth unemployment rate showing 55.4pc of
young people were out of work. (Source UK
Yet in the UK unemployment falls again
Do You want to stay in a Europe which
tells you what to do ?
Do you want to stay in a Europe that
dictates local policy?
Do You want none-elected EU officials
running the UK ?
Even the Euro problem has not gone
away, they are still printing money!
Most old folk now what to do
even Old Labour knows what to do ,
but Do you think the so called one
nation New Labour will do what their masters tell them?
Its your call

WBA Parking
I hope Sandwell Labour are proud of their latest attack on the motorist. Our Town decays, shops and industry move out or close, but there's one common factor
Labour's obsession with Parking?
This time its Match day supporters at
the Albion, with 128 parking tickets issued.
Some boroughs help such a prestige
club to bring in money to their towns by helping away supporters to
park, few towns or cities in this country have roughly 30,000
potential customers once a fortnight then ignore them, worse still
fine some of them.
Free parking in the town centre with a
return of the supporters buses to the ground is one idea, but I doubt
Labour will even consider it.
So I ask Sandwell council “How many
of the 128 nicked were away supporters?” who then went home telling
friends and neighbours all about Sandwell's welcome & hospitality?.
This action is reported as raising just
£3,955 in fines, which is part of £8.6 million of Tax payers
(Your) money to be spent on traffic measures around the borough.
When they are cutting other vital services!.
£3,955, just a few weeks work

Red Ed's Europe Referendum problem !
Deja vu strikes Ed again, just what is
this man babbling on about ? With his own Labour MP's ringing local
Radio stations saying we should have a referendum, Red Ed says we
shouldn't!.
Doesn't he know what going on in his
own party?
It must be hard for multi millionaire
Ed with a nice house in London to understand what the people in Birmingham and the Black country feel about Europe.
In interview's on both the Radio and TV, he parrot phrases what the Prime
Minister has said and once more avoids answers
Listen to this interview with James
Naughtie
“We want a "flexible Europe"
where areas of policy could be negotiated. he said
Well done Einstein, didn't Cameron say
that ?
on immigration ? We (Labour) got it
wrong
So, No Referendum under Labour? or is
there?
He could ask his MP's they seem to know

Close the Public or have a Rent Rise?
A good question, just 3 days after our post that the last Labour government spent all the money, and a month or so after award winning Sandwell Homes went back in to council control, Sandwell Labour announce plans to hike everyone's rent by about £7 per week
Is that why they wanted Sandwell Homes Back?
yet at the same time they fund the public!.
So while the residents of Sandwell endure the proposed rise they can rest in the knowledge that they are helping to pay for the increased visitor numbers at the public.
yet Labour still blame others
The Coalition has given Sandwell £M's for housing yet sadly at a new project in West Bromwich you get a free push bike if you have a new home.
Is that because the parking is £4 per day ?
So I wonder what the people would want
Close the Public ?
have a rent rise ?
While your thinking about that one, I'm reminded about an article in the E&S page 11, 19th Oct 2012
Not content with tea and biscuits, Sandwell Council was considering Mexican fajita's or Dim Sum at its meetings
and here's a further report on Councillors Pay

Dear Tories, sorry we spent all the money
Just 2 years ago this was all over the
press
Britain is Skint
Back in June 2011 a confidential document presented to the Labour Cabinet in January 2006 , which was printed in the press, asked.
"We've spent all this money, but what have we got for it?"
Now we roll onto 2013 and Labour talks the talk but doesn't do the walk, now they say they have an answer for every problem, but refuse to tell you what the answer is.
Sadly Labour legacy lingers on, this time on your Electricity Bills. Labour's push for wind generation has cost the UK £17 Billion.
So Labour's wind farms has cost you about £33 a year on your bill, but not content with sticking these all over the country our local Labour party were going to stick a full size one in an area of beauty called Sandwell Valley, at a cost of £ Millions,
Strangely enough Sandwell Labour's first wind generator installed at a cost of £1000's in Oldbury produced just a few £'s worth of electricity (£39 in one year at 2010 prices) and who do you think paid for that ?
Sandwell Tory said
If you had £3miilion, would you spend it on schools or a wind farm?

Sandwell's Health Budget
After so many nasty comments from Labour about delays, Sandwell's health budget allocation has been announced and the coalition Government has increased it by 10%
Sandwell Council being allocated £20,816,000

How much of the pensions money is invested in Tobacco companies?

Labour Finally has a Policy! on Cornflakes
Wow, Labour spent all the money, let
BL and countles companies close, built less social housing than
Maggie, let imigration go crazey, cut your 10p tax rate , doubled
your Council tax and taxed a number of pensions out of existance
but Labour have a new policy to correct
the mess they left our country in
there's to
much sugar in your breakfast cereal
have I missed something ?
Will lowering the sugar & salt
level of cornflakes fix the mess they left behind?
Will lowering the sugar & salt
level of cornflakes fix the Housing problem ?
Will lowering the sugar & salt
level of cornflakes fix the Economy?
see
Sandwell Tory said
Yes there is a problem with obesity,
specifically child obesity and we will change the laws if necessary
but I ask
Why where so many school playing fields
sold off under Labour?
Why talk about cornflakes now, when
Labour were in power for 13 years ?
Forgive my cynicism but
Do I see a new Labour Jammie Dodger Tax
?
I found this on the net

Sandwell Council Tax
Not only has the Coalition Government frozen council tax for another year, but the the old days of paying your council tax over 10 months is to change, if you want.
Eric pickles has announced that from this year (2013) you can pay Council Tax over 12 months instead of 10 months, so you can make 12 lower payments instead of 10, this will lower an average payment for "B" by about £17/month.

The total amount paid per year will remain unchanged
Problem is
You have to make the request to change to 12 individual monthly payments
