Sandwell's Death Tax II, The VAT Rebate Refusal

For years it seems Sandwell charged bereaved families VAT for headstone work for cremated remains then Sandwell found out some VAT should not have been charged ?
A number of people assumed they would get some over payment money back!

Got the picture ???

But Sandwell Labour said We are keeping the VAT rebate money (£1M)

That £1Million over paid by loved ones, usually pensioners who have lost partners.

The excuse Labour used in the press is

“In many cases the level of VAT amounts to only £10 and its impractical to trace people to pay them back"

Hold on a minute ?

Sandwell used to write to Crematorium memorial owners every 10 years or so and ask them for more money for the next 10 years rent and a clean up of the memorial, or it says it will remove the name stone
and plaques.

So here are a few questions that need answering

If Sandwell knows were people live when it wants money for a Crematorium headstone clean and the next 10 years rent.  when it comes to paying people back, why is it a very difficult task ?

How did Sandwell Value its VAT refund at £1M ?

Did it have a good guess or have a list of the transactions ?

Sandwell Tory Said

Labour loves your money, my last post asked

Are Sandwell Labour coming for your death & divi club money?

Now I ask

Have Sandwell Labour found a way to Tax you years after your dead ?

For overseas readers VAT = Value Added Tax , similar to a purchase Tax

Sandwell's Children’s Services, will no one in Labour ever Resign

What is going on in Sandwell's children’s services they seem to have had more Directors than children's workers, following the latest damaging news that another senior Director has been sent home pending rumours of another bad report.

Starting back in 2009 then 2010 then 2011 then 2012 and now in 2013,  all we hear is there is to be yet another reorganisation

It is simply NOT GOOD ENOUGH to have another reorganisation after so many years
of Promises

Would you like an external inquiry conducted?

Do you feel this reorganisation should involve the resignation of the Cabinet member for children's services ?

Is almost 5 years of failed Labour promises Good enough ?

We want the Government to send a team in ????
Going Back

we wrote

4 new heads of service
£2Million in temporary staff wages
10 staff suspended
100’s redundant

Sandwell Tory said

I have now lost count on how many heads of department Sandwell has got through in the last few years
Appalling, totally appalling I bet no one will resign

Sandwell 's Death tax

You work hard you never claim on society you scrimp & save for a mortgage you’re sensible enough to put a few bob aside for a decent funeral when you go, then in your 50's or 60's you lose your job, then Sandwell come along after your saved up funeral money.

Sandwell have lowered the capital cut off limit for Council tax reduction (CTR)  from £16,000 to £6,000

I went to my old mates funeral just 3 weeks ago and that cost £4800 just for the funeral without
the wake and other expenses
So this means some residents will have to pay council tax from their funeral money

Sandwell Tory said

Other authorities have kept this part of CTR the same to help their residents
Well done Sandwell, for a Death Tax
Will Sandwell now come for your Death and Divi money ??

Labour's ground hog day

Have you heard the saying, “Its being so miserable that keeps them happy” we have now had months of Labour telling you tales of gloom and doom

Ed Miliband's Labour party has basically opposed most things we have done, yet at the same time Ed seems to be sorry for most of the things Labour did while in government

Labour chant
The economy O, woe is me we are doing it wrong
Europe O, woe is me we are doing it wrong
jobs, O, woe is me we are doing it wrong

but while Labour's new battle cry revolves around O, woe is me gloom doom and pestilence
here's a list of items Labour may not like you to know

Investing in more apprenticeships. Over the lifetime of this parliament, we will fund 250,000 more apprenticeships than the last government even planned.

Cash bonuses for small companies taking on young apprentices. We are offering employers
with 50 employees or fewer up to £1,500 for taking on an apprentice aged between 16 and 24.

A record half a million people started an apprenticeship last year. 520,600 people started an
apprenticeship in 2011-12.

An 86 per cent increase in apprenticeships under this Government.

UK tops global competitiveness survey. The UK has topped KPMG’s league of best countries
to do business, ahead of Switzerland, the USA and France for the first time ever

Income tax cut for 24 million people. The Government will have increased the personal
allowance from £6,475 in 2010 to £9,440 by April 2013.

When Labour came to power, 14.2 per cent, or 1 in 7, 16-24 year-olds were unemployed. This
rose to 19.8 per cent, or 1 in 5, by the time they left

The number of NEETs went up by a third under Labour. To 874,000 in the second quarter of
2010

Cutting and freezing fuel duty - now 10p lower than it would have been under Labour.

Council tax cut in real terms by almost 10 per cent, by freezing it

The biggest ever cash increase to the Basic State Pension

Mortgage lending statistics show strongest lending for January since 2008.

The British Retail Consortium have reported the strongest growth in retail sales in three years.

Sandwell Council Tax frozen again

The Conservative led Coalition have given Sandwell the money to freeze your council tax for a further year

Labour controlled Sandwell could have said No, but they decided to accept the Governments money

When Labour were in Government your Council Tax doubled

Since the Conservative led Coalition have been in Government your council tax has not moved and thanks to the Conservatives’ third year council tax freeze initiative, when you compare council tax to inflation it means that council tax has fallen in real terms by 9.5 per cent under this Government

Sandwell Tory said

Labour are still wasting money and with a Conservative led council we could LOWER your council tax and still improve services

Labour just like spending money

Will Labour apologise for Mid Staffs?

While relatives mourn over lost loved ones, it seems Staffordshire problems are turning into a political battle of words, with Labour having the cheek to say there's
2 weeks to save the NHS

see this tweet
