Times are hard repairing the mess, but under Labour your Petrol would have been MUCH dearer, about 15 to 20p dearer and once again we've scrapped the Labour Petrol price escalator.
We have now scrapped most of Labour's rises,
But ask yourself would Labour have scrapped its own tax ?

Sandwell Sees the Light
Not being parley to the discussions
that have been going on, Its pleasing that one of West Bromwich's
flag ship companies has made a deal to stay in the Town.
BBC radio news mentioned that SMBC has
re negotiated the deal with the West Brom Building Society
to stay in the Town
Sandwell Tory Said
We welcome this excellent news of the
deal, Its about time, perhaps the council will now continue by
scrapping parking charges, working a rates deal with potential new
traders and scrapping out side market fee's, we can but live in hope

Sandwell's Economic Growth
I see that after April 2013 some of the councils revenue is to be linked to the Councils ability to support local firms and create jobs in its area.
If Sandwell helps traders and business to set up and flourish it will be able to retain a 50% share in the business rates and on top of that they can keep 50% of of any growth in the business rates.
if they get good growth they should get good money.
Sandwell Tory said
If done right this will help the local economy and help create jobs for local people
but the thing that worries me is
Will the highly qualified workers this could bring be prepared to pay Sandwell Council £24 a week for the pleasure of parking ?
Will our Towns prosper when shop workers, and market traders pay Sandwell Council £24 a week for parking ?
Sadly I Doubt it, remember WBBS

another big name shop closing, Smiths has been in the town since the
1940's stating “dwindling trade in the town”as the reason for closure.
Sandwell Tory said

Labour shame on you for
what's happened to our once magnificent town, in just 30 years.
your own Labour party
run Council even moved 100's of staff from Lombard Street to Oldbury only
a few months ago, helping leave West Bromwich desolate.
But you did give us the
Public!
Remind us all how much does that cost?
oh? and the musical chair game with 2 other West Bromwich Police
Stations and 2 bus stations, how much did that lot cost?
SCRAP parking charge
while you can or who will be next ?
Can you think of any more
that have gone?

Sandwell's big parking announcement
I see in the local paper that Sandwell
is giving free parking on Saturday & Sunday in the three weeks
run up to Christmas.
One little problem Sunday's have always
been free, or is that about to change?
Oh and the cost for parking will
double.
yes 80p to park by this shop with talk of £4 per day !
Sandwell Tory said
I can only think that out of town
shopping centres will be packed with West Bromwich residents enjoying
free parking all year round with some open till 10 pm, in the run up
to Christmas.
Sadly West Bromwich has one of the
highest number of empty shops in the UK and even at the new Shopping
supermarket, parking will be free to their customers
Thanks for nothing, yes nothing is what
the traders and people have got for Christmas
How many more will follow WBBS before
they see the light

Labour and your Petrol
Just in case you forget
When Labour came to power in 1997 the fuel duty on unleaded petrol stood at 36.86p per litre. When they left office in 2010 it had risen to 57.19p per litre
(HMRC, Hydrocarbon oils: historic duty rates, link).
Now Labour jump up and down at the pump price
but this is what Labour idea of a stabiliser did to the price of petrol when they were in office
12 rises, with plans for another 6.
1.02/07/97 – fuel duty rose to 40.28p per litre
2.17/03/98 – fuel duty rose to 43.99p per litre
3.09/03/99 – fuel duty rose to 47.12p per litre
4.21/03/00 – fuel duty rose to 48.82p per litre
5.15/06/01 – fuel duty rose to 48.82p per litre (having briefly been 46.82p)
6.01/10/03 – fuel duty rose to 50.19p per litre
7.07/12/06 – fuel duty rose to 51.52p per litre
8.01/10/07 – fuel duty rose to 53.65p per litre
9. 01/12/08 – fuel duty rose to 52.35p per litre (having previously fallen to 50.35p)
10. 01/04/09 – fuel duty rose to 54.19p per litre
11.01/09/09 – fuel duty rose to 56.19p per litre
12.01/04/10 – fuel duty rose to 57.19p per litre
Labour also planned for six further fuel duty rises after the election.
Labour's March 2010 Budget, delivered by Alistair Darling set out six further rises
13. 01/10/10 - 1p rise
14. 01/01/11 – 0.76p rise
15. 01/04/11 – 1p rise in real terms
16.01/04/12 – 1p rise in real terms
17. 01/04/13 – 1p rise in real terms
- 01/04/13 – 1p rise in real terms
We have scrapped most of Labour's rises, But ask yourself would Labour really scrap them?
